New Delhi: ASN Senior Secondary School, Mayur vihar-1 recently celebrated ‘International Energy Day’. The theme of the assembly was ‘ Sun – A Big Battery’ which very clearly, instated that the natural resources, most especially ‘Solar Energy’ must be conserved and utilized to the maximum.
The programme took a tranquil start with ‘Surya Namaskar’ prayer which not only was soothing but also spawned energy to each and everyone present in the assembly. It was then followed by a melodious choir song and a thoroughly informative play. The students created a space station and showed their fellow students how things function up there.
It really was quite an interesting and novel way of getting us close to the astronauts who, explore the space and keep us updated with relevant information. Students also gave scintillating that performance, emphasizing on the value indispensability of the sun around us.
School Principal, Ms. Sonia Luthra congratulated the students for putting up a great show. She said, India has an ideal combination of dense population and high solar insulation for using solar power wisely in India and education on conservation of natural resources should start early as each one of us should contribute and save natural resources.
